Rooftop Terrace, MARTA Lobby Art Installation and More Coming to Resurgens Plaza
“The nature of work is changing; today’s employees require flexibility and inspiration within their workday routines,” says Mark Vollbrecht, principal for ZRG.
ATLANTA, GA—Zeller Realty Group has begun a multimillion dollar plan to transform Resurgens Plaza, with significant upgrades to the MARTA lobby, the grand lobby, and amenities such as adding a contemporary conference facility and a rooftop terrace.
Originally constructed in 1988, Resurgens Plaza is a 402,929-square-foot, 27-story trophy tower located directly above the Lenox MARTA station along East Paces Ferry Road. Offering the highest ratio of communal and collaboration space to solo space of any contemporary workplace in the city, the Resurgens Plaza renovations are aimed at improving workspace flexibility and connectivity. The project is expected to be complete in 2019.
“The nature of work is changing; today’s employees require flexibility and inspiration within their workday routines,” says Mark Vollbrecht, principal for ZRG. “Knowing that the average employee spends a third of his or her life at work, we deeply believe in enhancing the workplace experience to become an engaging place where people feel happy, motivated and productive. We look forward to re-establishing Resurgens Plaza as Buckhead’s premier office destination.”
An expansive 2,500-square-foot rooftop terrace is planned for the 14th floor of the Buckhead office tower, offering greenscapes, modern décor and panoramic views of the Atlanta skyline. The 14th floor will also feature a large, contemporary conference facility that can be partitioned into two smaller conference rooms for formal or interactive meetings. A pre-function area located adjacent to this conference facility will provide the ideal space for hosting catered events, post-event cocktails and networking opportunties.
Interior enhancement plans for Resurgens Plaza’s grand lobby will focus on improved lighting, revised programming and new furnishings. All common areas will be equipped with high-powered Wi-Fi to support connectivity and collaboration among tenants. In fact, Resurgens Plaza recently earned a coveted Gold Wired Certification from WiredScore as one of Atlanta’s “best connected buildings.” Wired Certification is the nation’s preeminent program that rates and recognizes the infrastructure, connectivity and readiness of office buildings to adopt future technology for tenants.
“In today’s market, commercial real estate owners and developers must provide workspaces that not only meet the physical needs of tenants, but more importantly meet the exacting and ever-evolving digital needs of Atlanta’s companies,” said JD Jeske, WiredScore’s head of Atlanta. “Resurgens Plaza is rising to that challenge with its Wired Certification, and ZRG will now be able to showcase the building’s digital features to current and prospective tenants with this distinction.”
In addition, ZRG will add modern fitness equipment to Resurgens Plaza’s 6,000-square-foot fitness studio. A bike hub will provide added convenience for tenants who choose to bike to work. This new storage room will be located adjacent to the direct greenway trail access to Path400 Spur. Other improvements include upgraded parking software systems and elevator modernization, which is expected to begin next year. Also among the improvements is a MARTA video lobby wall, which displays digital art installations moving in sync with train arrivals.
“Corporate real estate is increasingly becoming a significant tool to attract high-quality talent, and these upgrades will not only enhance the overall tenant experience, but also improve tenant recruiting and leasing activity,” says Caroline Nolen, leasing director at Cushman & Wakefield, which is handling leasing at Resurgens Plaza. “Upgrades to Resurgens Plaza’s amenities and common areas will provide a welcomed departure from the average workday. With these exciting renovations underway, we are confident that current and future tenants will continue to be drawn to this outstanding destination.”
Resurgens Plaza’s existing amenities include a bistro serving breakfast, lunch and Octane coffee and Junction, a casual gaming lounge offering ping pong, foosball and other entertainment. Located a short walk from Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza, Resurgens Plaza is surrounded by walkable amenities, including retail, restaurants, bars, hotels and entertainment venues. As one of the few office environments in Atlanta with direct/covered access to a MARTA station (Lenox Station), Resurgens Plaza provides easy access to all of Atlanta’s surrounding neighborhoods and Hartsfield Jackson International Airport.
