NEW YORK CITY— Foodie alert. As the Garment District continues to evolve, Fête New York is bringing a food hall with nine local food vendors to 231 W. 39th St., located between Seventh and Eighth avenues. Adams & Company Real Estate signed a 16-year, 12,063 square-foot lease with the culinary company. The tenant will occupy the ground floor of the 12-story building that was constructed in 1908 and is known as the Contemporary Fashion Center. Asking rent was $125 per square foot.
Scheduled to open in spring 2019, the food hall will welcome visitors seven days a week and will offer cuisine created by rising chefs. The space will be anchored by a central bar, serving New York brewed beer and concocted spirits to encourage a nightlife scene.
James and Jeffrey Buslik of Adams & Co. represented their company, and Michael Yadgard of Maxwelle New York represented the tenant.
“Fête New York will bring a transformative food experience to the Garment District, a neighborhood that has evolved significantly as a 24/7 destination in recent years,” says James Buslik. “This food hall diversifies one of Manhattan’s most cultural neighborhoods, creating a central gathering place that introduces the local workforce, residents and visitors to culinary concepts from the five boroughs.”
Patrons will also say hello to the Jazz Age. Designed by Carpenter & Mason, Fête New York will bring a 1920s Art Deco look to the building, to celebrate the continued growth and rebirth of Manhattan.
