Rooms With a View

A new Hyatt Place hotel accommodating Space Coast’s fast growth will offer a unique place to see rocket launches.

A Hyatt Place hotel that broke ground last month at Kennedy Space Center will be the first Hyatt in Brevard County and offer a new upscale choice but will also be known for another unique feature: A launch-viewing lounge.

The 118-room hotel set to open next fall will be the closest lodging to the space center.

The Space Coast here continues to see robust growth with the introduction of new and expanding companies such as Elon Musk’s Space X and Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin.

And that’s also the case with launches as well, with the dozen this year expected to increase to 48 within two years.

The new hotel will offer a somewhat higher-end alternative to nearby places such as a Holiday Inn.

The lounge space will have large windows that can be opened to let viewers see and hear rockets blasting off.

BBL Hospitality is building the hotel.

The Hyatt will be located in Titusville’s planned industrial park, Riverfront Center, next to Boeing’s Florida headquarters on U. S. 1.
