NEW YORK CITY—Bronx Terminal Market, located at 601 Exterior St. is going to be home to Food Bazaar Supermarket. They are opening the borough's biggest supermarket in the spring of 2019, having signed an 80,000 square-foot lease at the Related Companies property. Additional terms of the deal including the price and length of the lease were not disclosed.
Developed by Related in 2009, Bronx Terminal Market has one million square feet of retail space. Other tenants at the mall include the national retailers Marshalls, Target, Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, Michaels, Best Buy, Burlington and Chuck E. Cheese.
The family-founded and privately owned and operated company has over 25 full-service supermarkets in the tri-state metropolitan area under the name Food Bazaar. They originally opened in 1988 using the name Bogopa, which means “yearning for you” in Korean. Now, the supermarket still carries their Bogopa private label as well as grocery staples.
