NEW YORK CITY—The Compleat Sculptor has signed a 13,500 square-foot, 10-year retail lease at 110 W. 19th St. The property owner is Wasserstein Enterprises, according to PropertyShark. The tenant plans to move into the building in December. The asking rent was $35 per square foot.

The eight-story, 265,000 square-foot office and retail building, located in the heart of Chelsea was constructed in 1917.

The Compleat Sculptor, a family-owned and operated business, had been located in the Hudson Square neighborhood of Manhattan at 90 Vandam St. for nearly 25 years. The sculptors' supply store will be taking raw space on the lower level of the property. The store also offers informal on-site classes. Over the years the business has expanded into a variety of industries including set design, toy prototyping, movie special effects, museum displays, restoration and renovation, interior design, TV props and even the military.

All brokers were from ABS Partners Real Estate. Jake Bank and Joe Italiaander represented the tenant and Andy Udis represented the owner in the lease negotiations.

“The Compleat Sculptor has operated in New York City for generations,” says Bank. “The company wanted to remain in Manhattan instead of relocating its operations to the outer boroughs like so many other family-operated businesses that have been priced out of Manhattan. We are delighted that we were able to find a space that fit all of their real estate requirements and provides options for future growth.”

The Compleat Sculptor's lease brings the building to 100% occupancy. Other building tenants include WeWork, Samsung and Metropolitan Pavilion.
