The area healthcare provider more than doubled its non-clinical footprint, adding to its 500,000-square-foot Chicago market portfolio.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL—Northwest Community Healthcare has acquired a 123,944-square-foot office building at 3040 Salt Creek Lane in Arlington Heights, IL from Alexian Brothers for $6.6 million. The price was reported by Real Capital Analytics, a proprietary research database that tracks commercialreal estate transactions.

Avison Young executive vice president Mark Johnson, a healthcare specialist located in the Chicago office, represented Northwest Community Healthcare in the purchase of the property. NCH is moving operations from its nearby 3060 Salt Creek Lane property, where it occupied 50,000 square feet. Avison Young has also been engaged to oversee the disposition of the former office facility on behalf of NCH.

“With the purchase of 3040 Salt Creek, NCH has more than doubled its business support square footage,” says Johnson. “This allows the organization to consolidate its non-clinical financial and support services within one strategic location, increasing workflow efficiency and cost effectiveness.”

3040 Salt Creek Lane is a three-story, 123,944-square-foot medical office building located less than a quarter mile from Illinois Route 53 and adjacent to Arlington International Racecourse. With 546 parking spots on-site and near the Arlington Park Metra commuter train station and Illinois Route 14 (Northwest Highway), the property is positioned well to provide a best-in-class office environment for NCH’s employees.

NCH began a phased, move-in process into the new property on November 1. Known as the health system’s Shared Services Center, the facility will house non-clinical business operations and support services staff.

“We’re thrilled to be able to house all of our non-clinical staff and services under one roof,” says Stephen Scogna, CEO of NCH. “Our new Shared Services building is right next door to our former Business Center, which makes the most sense for our employees who will have an identical commute but more ample parking and a larger space with room to grow.”
