NASHVILLE, TN—National fitness franchise Anytime Fitness plans to open as many as 30 new locations throughout Tennessee in the next five years.

The Woodbury, MN-headquartered company says the expansion will nearly double its current presence in the state. The expansion effort will be undertaken through strategic franchise partnerships.

Company officials note that with a positive business environment, an open real estate market and multiple successful existing franchisees, Tennessee is an obvious and attractive area for growth. Targeted markets throughout the state include Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis and Nashville among others.

Currently, there are 33 Anytime Fitness gyms open throughout Tennessee. Kicking off this new development push is the company's second, soon to be open gym in Nashville at 7609 Hwy. 70 South.

“We're not looking to simply grow a franchise brand—we're looking to grow and help individuals reach their specific goals and achieve a healthy, happy lifestyle,” says Chuck Runyon, co-founder and CEO of Anytime Fitness. “We're searching for local entrepreneurs who share our passion for building relationships and helping others so that we can achieve that vision in communities across the state.”

Already finding success in the market is multi-unit Anytime Fitness franchisee Jeff O'Mara who owns three locations in Tennessee and a total of 12 total Anytime Fitness gyms across the country.

“The Anytime Fitness corporate team works hard to equip us with the tools needed to help our members achieve their fitness goals,” said O'Mara. “I also credit much of my success to the strong owners throughout the system who all work to support one another as extended family and enhance each other's business.”

Anytime Fitness has 4,300 operating gyms serving 4 million members on five continents. Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the gyms are now open in all 50 states and in more than 30 countries.
