NEW YORK CITY—On Monday, Armstrong Teasdale, the more than 230-attorney law firm headquartered in St. Louis has opened a New York City office on the 37th floor at 919 Third Ave. in Manhattan's Midtown East.
With the expansion, the law firm has added 16 attorneys, including eight partners, eight associates and several staff members. The team will focus on real estate and litigation.
In September of last year, Armstrong Teasdale opened an office in Philadelphia. The firm states that increasing its presence on the East Coast will enhance services for existing clients, as well as create opportunities for growth. Currently, the firm has 10 offices in MO, KS, IL, CO, NV, PA and NY.
Richard Scheff, a partner, will continue to lead the firm's business in the Eastern region and will serve as the managing office attorney for both the Philadelphia and New York offices.
Joining the New York City office as partners are Andrew Brucker, Jeffery Dayon, Saul Mishaan, Charles Palella, Isaac Saufer, Howard Schechter, Julie Schechter and Phyllis Weisberg. They are experienced in cooperative and condominium law, leasing and real estate transactions, trusts and estates, and commercial litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. Eight associates and additional staff members will also join the firm.

The 46-story office tower at 919 Third Ave. that stands between E. 55th and E. 56th streets was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. It was built in 1970 and is owned by SL Green Realty and New York State Teachers' Retirement System, according to Real Capital Analytics. Other office tenants in the building include Debevoise & Plimpton, Schulte Roth & Zabel, Bloomingdale's and Bloomberg LP. The artisan carpet store Tufenkian, Chase Manhattan Bank and P.J. Clarke's have retail locations in the building.
