NEW YORK CITY—Bruce Ford has been appointed President of Transwestern Commercial Services' East Region. He previously served as president of the Southeast. Under his leadership, the region's property management portfolio more than doubled to its current 20.3 million square feet. In the past five years, transaction volume increased approximately 25%.
In his expanded role, Ford will oversee operations, client services and business development for commercial real estate services throughout Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, DC, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.
This newly created position is part of the company's shift to a broader approach to commercial services.

On the same day that Transwestern announced Ford's appointment, the company also issued a media release that Chip Clarke was named President of Transwestern Commercial Services' West Region. After 30 years at Transwestern, Clarke is overseeing business in California, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Utah and Washington. The company credited Clarke for expansion in the West and for professional development initiatives for future, young leaders. The firm also announced it hired Robert F. Vicci as SVP, asset services, to work in the Florham Park, NJ office to grow the firm's property management portfolio throughout the Northeast.
In July 2008, Ford began at Transwestern. Throughout his tenure, his responsibilities have spanned all of its business lines including leasing, asset services, capital markets and occupier solutions. The company noted his leadership in management operations, financial planning and marketing resulted in tremendous recruiting success as well as regional growth.
Ford also serves on Transwestern's board of directors and executive committee. He holds the designation of Real Property Administrator (RPA) from the Building Owners & Managers Institute. Based in Atlanta, GA, he actively volunteers in the community, serving as a board member of both Buckhead Coalition and Make-A-Wish® Georgia. Last year, he received Transwestern's Founder's Award, the highest honor bestowed by the company.
According to Ford's LinkedIn profile, prior to joining Transwestern, he was an EVP at the commercial real estate firm, Goodman Segar Hogan Hoffler, in Norfolk, VA and in Atlanta, where he worked for almost 20 years. He began his professional career as a property manager at Charles E. Smith Commercial, in the Washington, DC area, after graduating from Wake Forest University with a bachelor's degree in political science.
Transwestern Commercial Services has 34 US offices and assists clients from more than 200 offices in 37 countries through alliances with France-based BNP Paribas Real Estate and Canada-based Devencore.
