Brooklyn Boulders Leases in Williamsburg, Brooklyn
The company which creates and operates active lifestyles facilities branches out to its second Brooklyn location, leasing more than 30,000 square feet at 87 Kent Ave.
NEW YORK CITY—Brooklyn Boulders, a company that offers rock climbing, fitness, arts, culture and co-working has leased 30,598 square feet at 87 Kent Ave. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The active lifestyles “community building” business signed a long-term lease with the property owners Jay and Michael Weitzman. The facility they are developing is scheduled to open in 2019.
Brooklyn Boulders is converting the property into an urban rock climbing space, merging fitness with art, co-working and events.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Diana Boutross along with Ian Lerner and Abie Dweck represented the Weitzmans.
“With Williamsburg being such a vibrant and active community, it’s the perfect location for Brooklyn Boulders new home,” says Boutross. “87 Kent Avenue benefits from being situated among some of the neighborhood’s most popular attractions and steps away from the waterfront.”
Located on Kent Avenue and the corner of North 9th Street, the property is across from the East River State Park, near retail and dining. It’s accessible from the North Williamsburg Ferry Landing and the Bedford Avenue subway station.
This will be Brooklyn Boulders’ fifth location. It has lifestyle facilities up and running in Gowanus, Brooklyn; Queensbridge, Queens; Chicago, IL and Somerville, MA.
