CHICAGO, IL—Veteran real estate finance attorney Andrew White has joined Winston & Strawn as a partner in the firm's Chicago office.

White, who previously was co-chair of the Chicago real estate practice at Greenberg Traurig, focuses his practice on raising private equity capital and forming joint ventures to own, operate, develop, and finance a full range of property classes including office, industrial, residential, hotel, and retail properties.

Andrew has built a strong network of investors in both Chicago and Dallas,” says Winston chairman Tom Fitzgerald.  “These are important markets for us and adding Andrew to our team sharpens our ability to serve real estate and private equity clients in both places.”

Handling a broad range of financing matters including real estate investors, funds, sponsors, and operating companies, Andrew serves clients including REITs, hedge-fund managers, and private equity funds, as well as developers, purchasers, and landlords.

Andrew is a creative lawyer with a dynamic practice,” says Corey Tessler, chair of Winston's Real Estate Practice.  “In bringing him on board, we are enhancing our capabilities and our client base and, as importantly, we're gaining a partner who is well-positioned to be a leading force in our field for years to come.”

A graduate of Fairfield University, White holds a JD from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law and is a frequent writer and speaker on the real estate industry, trends, and outlook perspectives.

“The Winston platform is ideal for my practice and client base,” says White. “My clients will benefit from the depth and breadth of Winston's team and, in turn, I look forward to contributing to the expansion of the firm's national real estate practice.”

Winston & Strawn has 16 offices throughout North America, Asia, and Europe.
