HanesBrands Expands to 96,398 SF at 260 Madison Ave.
The American apparel maker leased an additional 36,293 square feet at the Sapir Organization’s Midtown South office building.
NEW YORK CITY—HanesBrands Inc., the clothing manufacturer and parent company of widely recognized brands such as Hanes and Champion, signed a 36,293 square-foot lease expansion for the entire seventh floor at 260 Madison Ave. The asking rent was in the high $60s per square foot.
The company will occupy a total of 96,398 square feet in the Sapir Organization’s building beginning the fall of 2019.
HanesBrands is consolidating and will relocate its offices from 16 E. 34th St. to the 22-story, Madison Avenue building that stands between E. 38th and E. 39th streets. The new offices are close to Bryant Park and Grand Central Terminal.
CBRE’s Peter Turchin, Gregg Rothkin, Brett Shannon, Tim Freydberg and Jared London serve as the exclusive leasing agents for 260 Madison Ave. and represented the Sapir Organization in the lease negotiations. The 570,000 square-foot property is now 100% leased.
JLL’s Mitchell Konsker and Colliers International’s Robert Gallucci represented HanesBrands.
“HanesBrands wanted to consolidate its New York City employees under one roof, creating a more cohesive workforce. Having long been a tenant at 260 Madison Ave., when a full floor space became available after CBRE recently renewed and relocated Solomon Page Group within the building, HanesBrands jumped on the opportunity,” says London of CBRE.
In addition to HanesBrands and Solomon Page, other building tenants include McLaughlin & Stern, Epix Entertainment and JP Morgan Chase.
