New York City—Contently has agreed to lease 13,146 square feet at an EQ Office’s building at 44 Wall St. The marketing technology company will relocate its headquarters from 598 Broadway between Prince and W. Houston streets in Soho to the 24-story Financial District tower in Q3 2019. Contently will occupy part of the 13th floor following EQ Office’s buildout of the space. Although additional terms of the lease were not disclosed, a source with knowledge of the deal tells GlobeSt.com that asking rents range from the low to mid-$60s.

Founded in New York City eight years ago, Contently provides online marketing content for global companies. Some of its clients include American Express, Bayer, Dell Technologies, JPMorgan Chase, Marriott and Walmart.

“Contently believes in the power of great storytelling and fuses art and strategy into all of its work,” says Scott Silverstein of EQ Office.  “This forward-thinking approach makes Contently a perfect fit for 44 Wall and its growing roster of dynamic companies.”

Other creative and technology tenants at the 350,000-square-foot property include advertising agencies Joan Creative and Giant Spoon; OnePlus, a global mobile tech company and smartphone manufacturer; GameChanger, a tech company that produces a digital scorekeeping app; and JobDiva, a maker of recruiting software.

EQ Office is a US office portfolio company wholly owned by Blackstone’s real estate funds. It recently renovated the FiDi property that was originally constructed in 1927. The improvements included adding multiple pre-built floors, and updating the lobby featuring artwork by the New York City street artist Hellbent. This resulted in Architectural Digest’s placing 44 Wall St. on its list of “The 12 New York City Office Buildings with the Most Incredible Artwork.”

CBRE’s Freddie Fackelmayer, Anthony Dattoma, and Zach Breit represented Contently. EQ Office was represented in-house by Silverstein, as well as by Zachary Price, Michael Rizzo, Jeffrey Fischer and Caroline Merck of CBRE.
