Developer Launches New "Carr Experience" in DC Building
Experience promotes well-being and productivity among customers.
WASHINGTON, DC—People are spending more and more time in the workplace. Nationwide, the 40-hour work week has become a 47 hour week. In the DC area, the work week averages 48.4 hours. As a result, workers are struggling to balance the demands of their work with their personal lives causing more stress and thus creating the need for wellness and other health-related programming in the workplace. In response, Carr Properties has created the Carr Experience.
“The Carr Experience is a reinvention of the way people experience the workplace with immersive, integrated and interactive office and amenity spaces that promote greater well-being and productivity,” says Oliver Carr, III, CEO, Carr Properties. “This includes offering hospitality-quality fitness facilities, roof decks and amenity spaces, and access to first-class food and beverage offerings, all delivered seamlessly through our technology platform. At the end of the day, our job is to create the environment that allows our customers to thrive, attract and retain the best and brightest talent.”
In addition to the in-building amenities, Carr has developed the Carr Experience App. The App provides their customers with a variety of immediate food and beverage options such as in-suite dining, easy sign-up for fitness classes, access to on-site services such as dry-cleaning delivery, and push notifications for upcoming special events. Early results have shown a high adaption to the app.
The Hub, Carr Properties’ headquarters in the District’s CBD, is the pilot location for the new Carr Experience. After undergoing recent extensive renovations, customers in the 420,000 square foot office building have access to updated terraces and lounges, a redesigned rooftop and rooftop bar, and a lobby bar managed by a Michelin Star rated chef.
Customers will also experience curated music, custom scenting plus a fitness center, bike room and conference facilities that were delivered in 2017, to promote connection, balance, and well-being in the workplace. A hospitality team, on par with high-end hotels, is also in place at The Hub,” says Carr.
The company plans to rollout The Carr Experience throughout its portfolio in the coming months.
