NEW YORK CITY—B6 Real Estate Advisors has appointed Joseph Tufariello as president of its capital advisory division. The firm, founded by Paul J. Massey Jr., last summer is building its debt practice and notes Tufariello has closed and originated over $10 billion worth of commercial loans in his career.

The firm's CEO Massey notes Tufariello's highly respected reputation in the industry. “The natural synergy between our investment sales team and our capital advisory division will allow clients to take advantage of two best-in-class platforms,” says Massey. “We are confident that with Joe at the helm, our capital advisory division will lead the industry in debt transactions in short order.”

In his new role Tufariello's responsibilities will include recruiting and training employees, business development, product management and financial management. He will work closely on developing and executing strategic plans for the firm and its capital advisory division.

Tufariello brings over 30 years of experience in debt structuring, loan origination and loan purchasing working with institutional clients, major brokerages and middle market clients. He most recently served as managing director in real estate capital markets at Wells Fargo, where worked for almost nine years.

Prior to that position, Tufariello had senior roles at Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan and Nomura Securities dating back to 1994. B6 states he was a top producer at all of his prior positions, including at Wells Fargo with loan sizes ranging from $5 million to $400 million.

“I was attracted to both the successful track record and the entrepreneurial spirit of Paul Massey and the B6 team,” says Tufariello. “The forward-thinking culture and advanced technology platform at B6 provide an environment that allows the firm to effectively service its clients.”

Tufariello holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Villanova University and a master of business administration in finance from New York University. He formerly served as president of the New York chapter of NAIOP. Currently, he's a member of the Urban Development and Mixed-Use Council and is on the advisory council for the Daniel M. DiLella Center for Real Estate at the Villanova School of Business.
