WARRENVILLE, IL—Health care provider Edward-Elmhurst Health will consolidate operations in two facilities in Elmhurst and Warrenville and relocate its corporate headquarters to the 4201 Winfield Road office building here later this year.
Edward-Elmhurst Health has signed a lease for 188,000-square-feet at the former Navistar headquarters building. The firm, which is comprised of three hospitals— Edward Hospital, Elmhurst Hospital and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health, will relocate to 4201 Winfield Road in November.
The hospital network will vacate a 98,000-square-foot office at 855 Church St. in Elmhurst and a 73,820-square-foot office at 2755 Diehl Road in Warrenville. The new lease will expand Edward-Elmhurst Health's corporate headquarters by 16,180 square feet.
David Justh of CBRE represented Edward-Elmhurst Health in the transaction. Jeff Shay and Lyle Patterson of JLL represented ownership, which Crain's Chicago Business reports as a venture of Barrington investor Thomas Herb.
As part of the move, EEH will be completing a significant interior buildout of its space to incorporate a new workplace design and strategy that will include an open floorplan. CBRE's Workplace practice consulted on the design and CBRE Project Management will oversee the completion. Whitney Architects has been retained as the architect and Executive Construction Inc. will complete the tenant build-out, CBRE reports.
The building ownership is also undertaking significant renovations at the 250,000-square-foot 4201 Winfield Road. Situated in the Cantera business park, the property is undergoing a full building repositioning. In addition to all new finishes in the lobby and common areas, when completed, the building will boast a state-of-the-art fitness center, tenant lounge, conferencing center, on-site deli with outdoor patio area. The property also offers on-site outdoor activities across its 26 acres, including a basketball court, putting green, sand volleyball and bocce ball courts.
“This is an amazing opportunity for Edward-Elmhurst to reposition itself and create an environment that will assure the attraction and retention of top-quality employees,” says CBRE's Justh. “When complete, this will be one of the best workplaces and buildings in the Chicago area.”
