Property management firm Sunrise Management has pegged Los Angeles as one of its top growth markets. With a rapidly growing portfolio of apartment units under management, Sunrise has hired Shane Robinson as regional VP to oversee all property management functions for the firm’s Los Angeles County portfolio. Robinson, who brings more than 20 years of experience managing multifamily properties to the firm, says that the Los Angeles market is a natural expansion market for the firm, which has a portfolio of 13,000 properties throughout the Western US.

“The Los Angeles market is a natural progression for us to expand to, as the metro is an attractive target for multifamily investors and developers,” Robinson tells GlobeSt.com. “With such fierce competition in this market, it also offers us with the opportunity to provide the best service. This opportunity ensures that we are keeping up to date with the most modern technology, partnership development and advanced management techniques – that will only help us grow even further within the market.”

The Los Angeles multifamily market is rapidly growing with new product coming to market to meet strong demand and supply the housing shortage. As a result, Robinson says that the firm is focused on creating a seamless living experience for residents. “The Los Angeles multifamily market is growing each quarter, and with this growth, so does the growth of opportunity,” he says. “The strategy is to focus on creating positive living experiences for residents that surpass the competition and provide a new level of care in the industry. This will align ourselves with the right partnerships and grow within the market at a healthy pace.”

While Los Angeles is an expansion market for Sunrise, its overall mission and management style will not change. “The approach will remain to provide the best level of service to our residents and our clients,” says Robinson. “Ownership needs do not necessarily change from market to market, as they are based on the business goals of each of our owners. With the experience and support of the entire Sunrise Management team, we are equipped to achieve our owner’s goals and help accelerate the growth of their portfolios.”

Prior to joining Sunrise, Robinson served as the regional manager for GHP Management and a business manager for Alliance Residential. “Sunrise Management was a good fit for me because our core vision and beliefs along with management styles were aligned,” explains Robinson about his decision to join the firm. “In meeting with the executive and support team members, I was assured that we had the right team in place to achieve our goals for growth in the Los Angeles market.”

In the next year, he is focused on establishing a strong foundation with the firm’s current portfolio of properties. “This means hiring the right people and identifying supplier partners who want to grow with us,” he says. “Beyond this goal, we strive to enhance our portfolio by partnering with more multifamily investors and developers in this market.”
