LAS VEGAS—The retail industry continues to evolve as new types of tenants work to attract and evolve with today's consumer. That is according to Peter Belisle, Southwest market director of JLL, who chatted with GlobeSt.com at the firm's party last week at ICSC's RECon (note “Lady Gaga” performer). According to Belisle, he continues to see growth in the esports sector with companies like GameWorks continuing to grow.

“We are also seeing traditional retailers create a experiential retail model,” he said. For example, Restoration Hardware, he says, has developed a restaurant concept as well as a wine tasting room as a way to build its brand.

Speaking of the food and beverage industry, he says that as a whole, it continues to grow with new concepts being created and marketed to niche demographics.

Lastly, he tells GlobeSt.com, several retailers and ecommerce companies are creating a last mile model in a shopping center environment where people touch and feel in-demand products.
