C.W. Driver Cos. has broken ground on a kinesiology facility at Orange Coast Community College. The $36 million 88,000-square-foot, multi-building facility will house sports medicine, physical education, athletics and kinesiology studies.
The project will be built in two phases, an initial 58,000-square-foot, two-building ground-up development followed by phase two, the renovation of an existing 30,000-square-foot. Once complete, it will total three buildings and will encompass division offices, athletic training, adaptive physical education, equipment management, locker rooms/showers, support spaces for the aquatics programs, a 65‐meter competition pool with double bulkheads, 25‐meter instructional pool and 450-person bleacher covered by a canopy.
The construction team includes David Amundson, Donny Dymond, John Wedge, and Mark Vondran, chief estimator. It is partnering with Little Diversified Architectural Consulting on the project.
