NEW YORK CITY—The commercial real estate professional association CoreNet Global NYC presented its 2019 Awards for Excellence last week at Manhatta, the Danny Meyer Union Square Hospitality space on the 60th floor of Fosun Hive Holdings' 28 Liberty St.
Michael Davidson, managing director, head of global real estate at JP Morgan Chase took home the Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year Award. The largest bank in the US, headquartered in New York City, extends across 45 million square feet in 456 locations having a $2.7 billion annual operating budget. The financial institution has plans to demolish its current 50-story, 1.5 million-square-foot headquarters at 270 Park Ave. and to replace it with a 2.5-million-square-foot office tower. The most recently revised plans are for a 1,322-foot-tall building as reported by Curbed New York.
Meaghan Farrell, regional account director, corporate solutions at JLL, won the Service Provider of the Year Award. Her nine corporate relationships cover more than 35 million square feet. Alison Kwiatkowski, VP, American business partner, corporate real estate & services at Deutsche Bank, was presented the Young Leader of the Year Award. She previously worked at JLL as the account director for Deutsche Bank's Amerca's Region.
For commercial interior projects over 100,000 square feet, CoreNet NYC recognized WPP's 700,000-square-foot campus at 3 WTC. The massive advertising and public relations firm consolidated several offices across Midtown to relocate to the World Trade Center. With GroupM and Kantar, WPP anchors the Lower Manhattan tower.
IEX Group won the award for properties in the 25,000 to 100,000 square-foot range. In October 2017, the Securities Exchange Commission granted IEX approval to list companies. Also called Investors Exchange, IEX moved into 4 WTC. TGP Architecture outfitted the 44,000-square-foot space.
M Moser Associates won the prize for properties under 25,000 square feet for its offices at 233 Broadway, in the Woolworth Building. CoreNet NYC praised the company's respect for the building's heritage and architectural details while incorporating new materials and technologies for a 21st century workplace. Having a virtual reality lab, 3D printer and innovation lab, the offices are housed within the 1910 headquarters of F.W. Woolworth, one of the country's original five-and-dime stores.
