Interest in senior housing real estate continues to rise throughout the country, due to an increase in demand and a change in desires. According to recent studies, 4.7 million senior residents will prospectively join the senior housing market within the next five years; a result of an expected population increase of 21% in seniors aged 75 and older.

This generation is seeking new alternatives to traditional senior living facilities, desiring continued freedom and modern amenities for their social lifestyles. Aiming to ensure a progressive, stable quality-of-life, developers and communities alike are taking notice and looking to create luxury “resort-style” living communities to assist seniors in their eventual life change. Professionals across the industry are also acknowledging the need for technology updates in senior living facilities, seeking to integrate digital doctor-patient communication systems for increased efficiency and relaxed environments.
