PA Gaming Revenue Rises Slightly in July; Parx Casino Ranks No. 1
The gaming control board released statistics for the first time for online casino game gross revenue at the three casinos that initiated Internet gaming during the week of July 15. Total revenues at the three casinos—SugarHouse Casino, Parx Casino and Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course—came to $812,306 for Internet Slot and Internet Table Games.
HARRISBURG, PA—The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board released monthly revenue statistics from the gaming facilities in the state, which showed a modest 1.13% increase in revenue in July as compared to a year earlier.

Total revenues at the three casinos—SugarHouse Casino, Parx Casino and Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course—totaled $812,306 for Internet Slot and Internet Table Games.
The Parx Casino in the Philadelphia suburb of Bensalem, PA, topped all gaming facilities in the state with approximately $52.3 million in total gaming revenue in July 2019, a 5.07% increase from July 2018. It should be noted that Parx Casino revenue includes sports wagering revenue from its South Philadelphia Race and Sportsbook and Oaks Race and Sportsbook.
In second place in July was Wind Creek Bethlehem with $45.3 million in total gaming revenue, down 3.33% from a year earlier.
At number three was the SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, which posted approximately $32.7 million in total revenue last month, an increase of 8.73% from July 2018. Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh came in at number four in July with an impressive month that saw the gaming facility post approximately $27.2 million in revenue, a 7.26% increase from a year earlier.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Golf Course rounded out the top five with approximately $20.9 million in overall revenue in July, a 2.45% increase from 12 months earlier. Hollywood Casino edged out Harrah’s Philadelphia, which registered $20 million in revenue, a 3.93% decline from July 2018, earning it sixth place among the state’s 12 casino facilities.
Total gaming revenue in July also included Fantasy Contest revenue, which totaled $1.2 million, a 41.87% increase from July 2018.
Last week, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board approved a license award to Stadium Casino, LLC, a division of The Cordish Companies of Baltimore, to construct a Category 4 casino in Hempfield Township, Westmoreland County. In June the gaming board approved Penn National Gaming’s proposed gaming facility in Berks County. The Hollywood Casino Morgantown.
