NEW YORK CITY – SL Green Realty Corp.'s One Vanderbilt, a 1.7 million-square-foot tower occupying one full city block west of Grand Central Terminal, has topped out at 58-stories stretching 1,401-feet high.
One Vanderbilt broke ground in October 2016 against a 2020 completion deadline. The structure, ranked as the city's second-tallest commercial building, is coming to a close more than two months ahead of schedule.
Navillus Construction topped out the building's concrete structure led construction with Hines overseeing the development, and Tishman and AECOM Company serving as joint construction manager. Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates designed the property.
"The topping out at One Vanderbilt is a major milestone that brings one of New York City's most eagerly anticipated skyscrapers closer to completion," said Donal O'Sullivan, owner and president of Navillus Contracting, in a statement.
Developers for the property are aiming to achieve high marks for LEED certification. The building will offer floor-to-ceiling slab heights ranging from 14'6" to 20' and a 30,000-square-foot amenity floor and dining.
