Transwestern Launches Healthcare Advisory Services in DC
The firm has appointed Ken Smondrowski as VP of the healthcare services group.
WASHINGTON DC – Transwestern Commercial Services has recruited Ken Smondrowski as vice president of its Healthcare Advisory Services.
In this role, Smondrowski will advise medical office space owners and users on portfolio management, asset acquisition and disposition, and lease negotiation. He will partner with Transwestern veteran, Joe McCormick to assist in the firm’s healthcare real estate services expansion from Washington DC.
Prior to joining Transwestern, Smondrowski worked at Health-Pro Realty Group, focusing on healthcare-related real estate transactions within the metro-DC region. He also previously worked as area director at RMR, where he managed leasing and property management for a more than 7.5 million-square-foot commercial office space portfolio throughout Virginia.
Smondrowski additionally assisted Microbiology International throughout his career in leasing, asset management and construction management for laboratory facilities. In a career highlight, he represented the firm in a $4.5 million acquisition of a 65,000-square-foot lab/flex building in Maryland.
Smondrowski formerly served as a board member for the Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Association of Greater Washington DC.
Transwestern aims to utilize Smondrowski’s local sector knowledge as a resource for healthcare real estate owners, investors and occupiers throughout the region.
The group recently added to its rapidly growing team, hiring Kate Morris, Vince Femiano and John Huff.
