Shane Wierks, a broker at Jeffery Realty Inc., sets a tremendous example that hard work pays off.

He started from the bottom, followed suit after his family was in the business and became acquainted with the commercial real estate aspect and didn't look back after seeing the growth potential. After graduating from college he determined that his knowledge of the industry, coupled with his desire to be an entrepreneur in the business world, made commercial real estate a natural fit.

His tenure at the leading retail brokerage firm in NJ, has proven himself with significant results via listing over 7 million square feet currently, more than 25 million square feet during his tenure, and completed more than 325 deals gross lease volume in excess of $250 million.

According to colleagues close to him, he has continued to build along with the company, enriching and training his juniors with knowledge and profitable approaches.

Consistently a top earner in the organization, his real differentiating factor, according to colleagues, is his focus on purchasing his own real estate at a very young age with a portfolio of close to 15 commercial properties.

Wierks has been recognized as a power broker in New York and New Jersey for the last 10 years and his colleagues say that his drive and passion cannot be matched. "He is not only as a broker, but he is an owner as well who understands the market and need of owners, and is guiding the prospects accordingly," said one colleague.

GlobeSt.com's first ever "People to Watch" series is highlighting individuals across all disciplines of commercial real estate who have and are continuing to make an impact on the industry. Stay tuned for many more profiles from tomorrow's leaders.
