Ten-X has re-launched its mobile app. The new app isn't only a redesign of its existing app, but a complete ground-up rebuild with new functions that will aid in keeping brokers connected and active away from their desktop. It includes new iOS programming, leverages data and behavioral and gives users access to 70% more assets than before.
"We did a re-launch of our mobile app for a couple of reasons. From an entire experience view, we completely reworked the user flow and search capability. We wanted to give our customers a better experience," Lawrence Yuan, chief technology officer at Ten-X, tells GlobeSt.com. "Second, we wanted an engineering performance experience too. We are now using Apple's latest and greatest technology under the hood, so it is also a better performing app now as well. Over time, technology changes, and when you are on an Apple or Google platform, they are always evolving. At some point, it makes sense to move on to the next generation of tools sets. So, there was an engineering impetus as well as a customer experience impetus."
The firm pulled tools that would be the most beneficial to brokers on the go. This was not only necessary for users to keep up professionally but also personally. "Our customers are on the go, not only selling real estate and managing transactions, but also logging into social media and using the phone for personal reasons," says Yuan. "There is more user engagement on mobile devices. Everyone is moving to the mobile phone for certain cases, and we are going to continue investing in those trends."
The new app includes an updated search engine, an updated search engine, a customizable leads report and a buyer preferences center. This is all focused on streamlining the transaction process. "Our PDP page is much more performant," says Yuan. "We are focusing on photos, and we created push notifications. We did add a bunch of features, and some of those came from user feedback from the first app and some features came from our own research."
The app went through a testing period before the initial launch, and had great results. "We are looking at the data of how users use our app to really see what makes sense. We have launched a pilot prior to the public launch, and we got feedback before we launched to the public," says Yuan. "This is really a ground-up re-build, and we hope this will set a good foundation for us to add features as time goes on." Since the launch, Ten-X has already had good traction and above expected downloads.
