MIRAMAR, FL— Space Coast Credit Union reports it is relocating its existing South Florida operations center to the Miramar Park of Commerce.
The firm, which employs approximately 850 total team members, is leasing the entire 48,604-square-foot. MPC-25B, located at 10600 Marks Way, which will provide Space Coast Credit Union space for future staffing expansion in its southern markets. MPC-25 consists of two spec office buildings, MPC-25B and the 56,494-square-foot MPC-25A.
The move to the Miramar Park of Commerce is scheduled for February 2020. Headquartered in Melbourne, FL, Space Coast Credit Union began operations in 1951 with seven founding members, as Patrick Air Force Base Credit Union serving 28 members, with $372 in assets. The credit union now boasts more than $4.5 billion in assets and serves more than 437,000 members in 29 counties and operates 59 branch locations that span Florida’s east coast from Flagler to Miami-Dade counties.
“We chose the Miramar Park of Commerce due to its proximity and convenient access to major nearby thoroughfares,” says SCCU chief operating officer Alan Lewis. “We weren’t necessarily looking at new construction, but we found that this building meets both our short-term and long-term needs.”
Sunbeam Properties VP Maridee Bell, who along with leasing associate Lauren Pace and Colliers International South Florida director of industrial services Ryan Goggins, represented the building owner in the transaction. Space Coast Credit Union was represented by Brian Lightle of Lightle Beckner Robison, Inc. in the transaction.
In 2019, more than 950,000 square feet of lease deals have been signed, including a more than 26,000-square-foot deal with Spirit Airlines and a nearly 30,000-square-foot lease deal with Florida Vocational Institute.
