The designation is likely because the markets have hadstrong construction activity, and many new developments areadopting green building practices as a standard.

"There has been so much new construction in Los Angeles andOrange County in the last five years, and everyone is building to ahigher standard," Dean Zander, EVP atCBRE, tells GlobeSt.com. "Most developers arebuilding with sustainability and green standards automatically aspart of their new product. With so many new units added to thesupply, green adoption and amenities are becoming the norm."
