"Having the ability to have both diagnostic and surgical functions in one space, clinicians can diagnose cardiac and vascular conditions and offer immediate surgical treatment without delay which will provide higher efficiency and improve patient outcomes."
The new Heart and Vascular Center will provide three multi-purpose catheterization/vascular labs and a hybrid OR that allow for diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular conditions in an advanced environment that fosters collaborative treatment planning and options for optimal patient outcomes. Two labs will be fully equipped hybrid rooms plus, a shell space for a third lab will allow for growth, and 10 dedicated prep and recovery rooms complete the space.
Jason Kreitner, FACHE, chief hospital executive, Ocean Medical Center, notes that cardiovascular procedures at the hospital have increased 28% over the past three years. Ocean Medical Center's cardiac catheterization team and partner Jersey Coast Vascular Institute will provide at the new Heart and Vascular Center advanced expertise for diagnosis of cardiac and vascular conditions and will offer immediate minimally invasive or complex surgical procedures if necessary, to meet the volume of patients.
