WELLINGTON, FL—The locally-based Bainbridge Cos., the 10th-largest apartment developer and owner and manager of luxury multifamily communities, will open a new regional office in Tampa next week.
The Bainbridge Tampa office will provide property management, investment, construction/renovation and development services to the growing Tampa housing market.
The company already has a strong presence in the region, with properties including Bainbridge at Westshore Marina, Bainbridge Ybor City and Bainbridge Bayside. The Tampa Bay MSA, which includes St. Pete and Clearwater, has reported population growth of 50,000 annually.
Kevin Keane, Bainbridge's EVP and COO, tells GlobeSt.com that his company's construction, development and property management businesses between Tampa and Naples have grown significantly over the past two years, necessitating a larger physical office presence in the region. Bainbridge recently completed three communities in Tampa, three more are under construction, and another five are in the development pipeline for delivery over the next one to two years, he says.
"We had to get everyone consolidated into a single location," Keane says. "Our staff has been growing significantly."
Keane says job growth in the Tampa area has been significant and is expected to continue. Part of that is driven by growth in "back shop" operations of financial companies.
"There is a significant skilled labor force in the market that continues to grow and the region is offering favorable inducements for companies to move into the area," he says.
With headquarters in Wellington, and a regional office in Orlando, the new Tampa location marks the third location for Bainbridge in Florida. Bainbridge also operates a headquarters in Bethesda, Md., and regional offices in Raleigh, Atlanta and New York City.
