ROSEMONT, IL—US Foods has signed a major lease renewal for its corporate headquarters operations at the Riverway office campus here.
Cushman & Wakefield reports US Foods has signed a lease renewal for 275,000 square feet at 9399 W. Higgins Road, part of the Riverway office campus. The lease renewal includes an option for further expansion at Riverway.
Dan Svachula, Michael Simpson and Allyson Birchmeier of Cushman & Wakefield represented the property's landlord, Adventus Realty, as leasing agents. US Foods was represented by James Otto, Abigail Zaleski and Chris Reynolds of CBRE in the lease deal.
Riverway's 1.1-million-sf campus is comprised of four Class A, 11-story office buildings. Adventus Realty—owner of three of the four buildings in the complex—is currently undertaking a significant capital improvement program to the buildings located at 9377 W. Higgins, 9399 W. Higgins, and 6133 N. River Road. The project is being overseen by SCB Architects.
The buildings are undergoing major upgrades to lobby areas, elevators and restrooms, as well as significant enhancements to security, parking and public transportation access.
"We are excited to take this next step in our transformation plans to bring more innovative workplace designs and amenities to our Rosemont headquarters," states Dawn Mandarino, senior manager for Real Estate at US Foods. "The convenience of our Rosemont location, combined with our commitment to creating a dynamic and collaborative workplace, provides US Foods with the ideal environment for attracting and retaining top talent across the Chicagoland area."
Back in June, US Foods Holding Corp. broke ground on a 355,000-square-foot distribution center in McClellan, CA. The facility is expected to open at the end of 2020.
The facility will house thousands of foodservice products as well as a meat cutting facility and fleet operations. Additional highlights include a full-service demonstration kitchen and training center for customer product demonstrations and recipe innovation, and an interactive technology center where US Foods customers can learn about the company's web-based business solutions.
In addition, the facility is designed to meet LEED Silver certification requirements and will incorporate energy and environmental improvements, such as energy efficient refrigeration systems, energy saving LED lighting, optimized HVAC systems and water-saving landscaping.
