CHICAGO—Level Ex, a growing medical gaming company, has expanded and relocated its headquarters operations here to more than 20,000 square feet of subleased space at 180 North LaSalle St.

The firm has relocated from River North to the 38-story, 760,000-square-foot office tower in the Chicago Loop. The term of the sublease for space on the building's fifth floor began in early 2020, according to Savills, which represented Level Ex in the sublease deal.

The firm's expanded footprint can now accommodate up to 125 employees. Level Ex reports its new space totals 20,377 square feet.

Savills corporate managing director Jon Azulay and senior managing director Adam Mitchell advised Level Ex in the lease negotiations. The sub-landlord, Newell, was represented by James Stein and Jack Tunnicliff at Cushman & Wakefield.

"Since its founding five years ago, Level Ex has been on a rapid growth trajectory. The company has launched several mobile games for physicians, has 500,000 healthcare professionals playing its games, and saw a 75% increase in personnel in 2019," Azulay says. "Because the business is expanding so quickly, it needed a space that could not only handle continued growth, but something turnkey that could support seamless and efficient operations."

Level Ex creates mobile, augmented reality and virtual reality games for physicians. The company uses state-of-the-art video game technology and cognitive neuroscience to capture the challenges of practicing medicine, which the company notes is revolutionizing the way physicians keep up-to-speed on rare and challenging cases, new medical devices and drug therapies to stay sharp in their specialties.

The company reports its medical video games, which are leveraged by the top 20 pharmaceutical and medical device companies as well as medical societies, offer CME credits and are available free on the App Store and Google Play.

Level Ex is actively hiring for various roles at its Chicago office and Boston satellite office.
