MIAMI—As the COVID-19 pandemic started sweeping through the US in early March and states officially or unofficially began lockdowns, many normal activities gradually ceased at apartment communities. One company, TRG Management, the property management division within Miami-based The Related Group, is trying to replace activities with virtual amenities in order to maintain a sense of community.

"We had to close our amenities down," Doreen Jaworski, head of TRG Management, tells GlobeSt.com. "We have this amazing group of people working in senior management, including our marketing team and regional managers. We got together and immediately created a type of virtual event calendar that we could get out to residents to substitute for the fact that we could have in-person gatherings anymore. It took us about four days to get up and running and have our first virtual cooking class."
