MARLBORO, VT—The 533-acre Marlboro College campus property that includes 58 buildings totaling more than 210,000 square feet of facilities space here is on the market for sale.
The college, which announced last November plans to close the campus at the end of the 2019-2020 academic year and merge with Boston-based Emerson College, has hired Colliers International Group Inc., in collaboration with V/T Commercial, to market and secure the sale of the campus located in Southern Vermont.
The campus is made up of dormitories, classrooms and lecture halls, administrative offices, a student center, dining halls, recreation and athletic facilities, a library, an auditorium and more. Colliers states that the campus is fit to be repurposed or for use as-is and is available for immediate occupancy.
The brokerage firm is offering virtual tours of the land which will include access to a representative sampling of the buildings, facilities and the grounds and is taking offers until tomorrow (April 23).
The property features 17 miles of on-campus trails and the nearby Green Mountain National Forest, offers outdoor recreational activities, including hiking, mountain biking and kayaking. Additionally, the property plays host to the highly popular annual Marlboro Music Festival.
"This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a superb property, surrounded by the unparalleled beauty of New England's natural environment," says Bruce Lusa, SVP of Colliers International. "Marlboro College faithfully served its town and the neighboring Brattleboro communities for nearly 75 years and moving forward, the campus' location, value and infrastructure will ensure that its new owners will continue to positively impact the area for years to come."
The campus is located in southern Vermont, 90 minutes from Hartford, Connecticut, two-and-a-half hours from Boston and four hours from Montreal and New York City.
