LOS ANGELES – CBRE Group Inc. has promoted Emma Giamartino to EVP of corporate development.

In the newly-appointed position, which will be in effect June 1 2020, Giamartino will be responsible for leading the company's merger and acquisition activities, globally.

The appointment follows Jim Groch's announcement of his plans to leave the CBRE in June, after 35 years of service to the company.

Since joining CBRE in February 2018, Giamartino has led the company's Americas mergers and acquisitions team. She has led a number of CBRE's acquisitions, including Telford Homes and FacilitySource. She has contributed to the company's corporate development team and additionally played an important role in the launch of CBRE's flexible workspace business, Hana, in late 2018.

Giamartino holds extensive professional experience in investment banking and mergers and acquisitions. She previously served as Verizon Communications' director of corporate development, where she worked to execute M&A transactions and strategic investments. Prior to Verizon Communications, Giamartino served as a senior investment banker in Nomura's technology, media and telecommunications group.

Giamartino received a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Engineering from Duke University.
