LOS ANGELES – CBRE has announced new leadership roles within the company's retail divisions.
CBRE executive managing director of Americas industrial and logistics, John Morris will assume the role of leader of the Americas retail. CBRE veteran, Bill Wright has been promoted to retail leader, platform and markets.
Prior to joining CBRE in late 2019, Morris served in various roles at Cushman & Wakefield; starting at the company in 2005 as a senior managing director of global business consulting on logistics assignments. He then led Cushman & Wakefield's Americas industrial business from 2012 to 2018, prior to serving as the company's retail leader of the Americas from 2017 to 2018.
Morris' newly expanded role will consist of leading more than 1,600 retail, industrial and logistics professionals throughout the Americas. The team of professionals was collectively responsible for more than $83 billion in transactions in 2019.
Wright holds 17 years of experience in both brokerage and management roles at CBRE. Currently serving as senior managing director for the company's retail and advisory transaction group 10-state Midwest division, Wright will now oversee the continued development and implementation of CBRE's retail platform within his expanded role.
"CBRE offers the industry's most complete retail platform," said Wright. "We are positioned better than anyone to take advantage of this changing environment and ensure that retail remains an important growth opportunity for our clients and our overall business."
"We also recognize that, as the retail world evolves and consumer patterns change, there is a significant opportunity to align our Retail and Industrial & Logistics practice groups. A forward-looking and meaningful integration of these two specialties will enable CBRE to deliver client outcomes that no other firm can offer," Morris stated. "Our professionals will be increasingly proficient in guiding our clients towards an integrated, multi-channel real estate solution that aligns brand, customer experience and product delivery."
