BAYONNE, NJ – Hudson Regional Hospital has purchased the Bayonne Medical Center property in Bayonne, NJ, for $76 million. The independent hospital has additionally resubmitted a competitive, binding offer to purchase the hospital operations from its current operator, CarePoint.

"HRH is the natural next operator of Bayonne Medical Center, and we look forward to a response from CarePoint to our offer," states Dr. Nizar Kifaieh, Hudson Regional Hospital CEO.  "HRH has an exemplary record with the New Jersey Department of Health and with this acquisition is well-positioned to create a premier network of acute care facilities in Hudson County."

Hudson Regional Hospital has invested more than $20 million in improvements to its facility, as the former Meadowlands Hospital. The improvements resulted in the hospital being recognized this year by Castle Connolly as a top hospital with 8 top doctors, and by Surgical Review Corporation with its excellence award.
