The affiliate of Starwood Capital Group, SH Hotels & Resorts, plans to open its Treehouse Hotel in Miami in 2023. This will be the brand's first US location.

Treehouse Hotel originally debuted in London in 2019.

Treehouse Brickell will be located in Miami's Brickell neighborhood and designed in collaboration with Rockwell Group and SHoP Architects. SH Hotels is developing it in partnership with JDS Development Group.

The 62-story hotel will be located within JDS Development Group's 1 Southside Park and will feature 191 rooms. Treehouse Brickell will also feature two rooftop pools, an indoor/outdoor dining area with a terrace and private bar, and a 25th floor event space with additional outdoor areas.

"Downtown Miami, Brickell is the perfect place for a Treehouse," states Starwood Capital Group chairman and CEO, Barry Sternlicht. "Like its London counterpart, Treehouse Brickell will be as much a destination for travelers as a local hangout, and will introduce a new kind of thoughtful, fun and imaginative hospitality experience to the area."

In effort to minimize its environmental impact, the hotel will implement a range of energy, water and environmental design strategies, such as rainwater harvesting and reuse, low-carbon energy materials, electric-car recharging stations and bike parking.

The hotel will feature repurposed materials and found objects, such as reclaimed flooring, wood beams and mismatched lighting. The hotel's interiors will offer the atmosphere of a boathouse, inspired by the Miami River.

"We are proud to partner with industry trailblazer, Barry Sternlicht to create a Treehouse at 1 Southside Park," says Michael Stern, founder and CEO of JDS Development Group. "Barry continually raises the bar for exceptional experiences in hospitality, and our location at 1 Southside Park will provide the perfect environment to welcome Treehouse to Brickell, Miami, and celebrate the hotel's first US location."
