Greenberg Gibbons Launches Flex/R&D Division
The company has opened a new Charlotte, NC office and plans to invest $100 million in Mid-Atlantic and Southeast developments.
CHARLOTTE, NC – Developer, investor and owner, Greenberg Gibbons has launched a new division, Greenberg Gibbons Properties, focused on developing class A, flex/R&D properties.
With the new division, the company aims to leverage its fully-integrated real estate services platform and scale its portfolio of mixed-use and retail destinations.
Thorough the flex/R&D division, Greenberg Gibbons is currently investing $100 million to acquire and develop sites throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions, for large-scale, ground-up projects. The company plans for the ground-up projects to integrate office, warehouse, light industrial and manufacturing uses.
In effort to support its rapid expansion, the firm has additionally opened a new Charlotte, NC office, located at 4929 Monroe Rd. The company currently has offices in Owings Mills, MD and Annapolis, MD.

Greenberg Gibbons president, Alex Laperouse leads the new division alongside SVP, Rick Williamson. VP of development, Drew Thigpen has joined the firm from the international engineering and construction company, Chicago Bridge & Iron.
“Our vision is to be a dominant player in the class A, flex/R&D market, and we expect to secure several prime sites in North Carolina and South Carolina within the next six months,” says Laperouse. “Converging trends are driving the need for more flex space for the logistics, technology, laboratory and light manufacturing sectors, and we have all the in-house capabilities to create and manage great destinations for these businesses.”
