JLL Hires New Global Head of Sustainable Operations
The firm has appointed energy and sustainability expert, Christian Whitaker to the newly-created role in effort to grow its sustainability team and environmental services.
CHICAGO, IL – JLL has appointed energy and sustainability veteran, Christian Whitaker to the new role of global head of sustainable operations.
Within the position, Whitaker will lead the firm’s energy and sustainability organization and manage the firm’s portfolio-wide sustainability programs for investor and corporate clients.
The formation of the new position aligns with JLL’s ongoing strategy to provide a unified sustainability offering globally, in effort to help clients decarbonize and reach their environmental goals. The company is currently working to build differentiated sustainability services with end-to-end solutions at scale to help the net-zero transition.
Whitaker holds more than 20 years of experience in energy and sustainability leadership roles. During the past 10 years, he has held various leadership roles at Siemens’ Building Technologies and Smart Infrastructure operating companies. Most recently, he served as the global head of energy services, where he was responsible for product portfolio, business development and executing Siemens’ energy efficiency and sustainability businesses globally. Whitaker is based in the Washington DC-Baltimore area.
