The conversion of the 440-acre site of the former Bainbridge Naval Training Center—the US Navy's primary training facility during WWII and the Korean War—into a sprawling logistics center has begun in Port Deposit, MD.

A joint venture between MRP Industrial and Hillwood Development Co. will build the project, which will include 3.7M SF of logistics and distribution space in a facility that will be called the Bainbridge Logistics Center.

The development's first phase, which will cost an estimated $300M, will include two industrial buildings totaling 1.6M SF that are scheduled to be completed next year. The project also will include two shovel-ready parcels of 1.7M SF and 380K SF for build-to-suit projects.
