MCLEAN, VA – Freddie Mac Multifamily has appointed company veteran Ian Ouwerkerk to SVP of underwriting and credit; a role he has served as the interim for since Q1 of 2022.
"Ian is a strong leader with a proven track record implementing strategic, forward thinking solutions partnering with our Optigo lenders and driving business results," states Kevin Palmer, head of multifamily at Freddie Mac.
Palmer adds, "He has been a vital part of our success this year while serving as the interim SVP of underwriting and credit and I look forward to seeing how he continues to develop and strengthen the team."

Prior to serving in the temporary position, Ouwerkerk served as VP of multifamily underwriting at the firm, as well as the senior director of underwriting for the Southeastern region. He previously worked as a commercial real estate broker, before joining Freddie Mac Multifamily in 2008.
As the nation's multifamily housing finance leader, Freddie Mac Multifamily aims to make housing more accessible and affordable for homebuyers and renters through its housing finance system.
