Why CREW Network Convention Is a Must for CEO Holly Neber

This year’s 2022 CREW Network Convention will be held September 21-23 at the Hilton Chicago, where more than 1,200 commercial real estate leaders from all around the globe are expected to come together for business networking and industry education.

CHICAGO—This year’s 2022 CREW Network Convention will be held September 21-23 at the Hilton Chicago, where more than 1,200 commercial real estate leaders from all around the globe will come together for deal making, business networking, industry education and leadership development in one event. Among the hundreds of attendees will be panelist Holly Neber, CEO of AEI Consultants, who tells GlobeSt.com that this particular convention is always a must-attend for her, but this year in particular, she says, she is looking forward to the conversation corners and peer exchanges.

Neber will serve as moderator during a breakout session titled: Climate Change Has Moved to the Top of the Agenda. In the presentation, panelists will discuss  the current risks, opportunities, and impacts on commercial and residential real estate; commercial real estate’s role in decarbonization efforts; how property insurers are responding to the increased risk of adverse climate events in certain areas of the U.S., and how these solutions could potentially affect commercial property valuations and operating costs; how to decarbonize real estate assets and portfolios and incorporate climate change risks into asset and portfolio valuations; actions real-estate players can take to thrive throughout the climate transition; and, how changes brought on by the climate transition will open new dimensions of competitive differentiation and value creation for real-estate players.

Neber tells GlobeSt.com that attendees of the event have such a broad range of backgrounds so she feels that she consistently learns something about the market that she can leverage for our business planning.

In addition to the market intelligence, she says, the best part of the Convention for her is “how energizing it is and how that drives more ambitious planning and creativity in growing our business.” She adds that “Everyone at Convention brings their A game so I leave there inspired to think bigger and be bolder.”

A few key highlights from the event include a lunch program with economist Marci Rossell, a world-renowned economist and financial expert who electrifies audiences, speaking candidly on the nexus of economics, politics, culture, and the media. Rossell honed her animated style serving as the popular, lively Chief Economist for CNBC, where she became a household name and a must-watch source of financial news. Rossell is revered for taking complex economic issues, often dull in the button-down business press, and making them relevant to people’s lives, families, and careers.

Another highlight at the event is a conversation with Lisa Ling, an award-winning journalist and gifted storyteller. She is the executive producer and host of This is Life on CNN, where she explores the scourge prescription pill addiction in Utah, the recent influx of women in North Dakota’s boomtown, and a town in the rural Midwest where young men aspire to be priests.
