Walker & Dunlop Launches New York Investment Sales Team
The team will be led by New York real estate veteran David E. Ash, who will work to expand the firm’s capabilities across all asset classes.
NEW YORK, NY – Walker & Dunlop Inc. is launching a New York investment sales team in an effort to expand its capabilities. The team will be led by real estate veteran David E. Ash.
As managing director at Walker & Dunlop, Ash will build out and manage the firm’s investment sales efforts across all asset classes in New York.
“David’s entrepreneurial track record with institutional buyers and his thoughtful approach to business will be invaluable as we grow our team,” states Kris Mikkelsen, EVP of investment sales at Walker & Dunlop. “His strong relationships and independent investment sales background complement the unparalleled expertise of our capital markets financing business in New York.”
Prior to joining Walker & Dunlop, Ash founded the New York-based, boutique capital markets and advisory firm Prince Realty Advisors, which executed nearly $6 billion in sale transactions during the past 10 years. While leading PRA, Ash cultivated a distinct business model that entailed counseling institutional investors to buy, sell and creatively structure commercial real estate transactions across all asset classes.
With deep knowledge of the New York market, Ash is known for his strategic deal matchmaking and for delivering a highly-curated services to clients.

From 2020 to 2021, Walker & Dunlop’s capital markets business grew its transaction volume 170% year-over-year, from $10.9 billion to nearly $30 billion.
“I am thrilled to join the team and build on the success of the New York capital markets group by expanding WD’s investment sales business to include all CRE asset classes,” says Ash. “Drawing from my previous expansive platform, we will be able to curate a business approach that will enhance Walker & Dunlop’s offerings for new and existing clients.”
Ash has been named one of the top ten power brokers in New York, he is a CoStar Power Broker and he is currently a member of REBNY and ICSC. He also serves as the founder and chairman of the NYC-based nonprofit organization Donate Your Time Inc., which matches individuals with volunteer opportunities in their communities.
