Conshohocken's SORA West Finalized with Addition of New Hotel
Keystone has partnered with Concord Hospitality Enterprises to develop and operate the 127-room boutique hotel.
Hotel West & Main has completed Keystone Development + Investment’s $340 million SORA West development in Conshohoken. Keystone has partnered with Concord Hospitality Enterprises to develop and operate the 127-room boutique hotel as part of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton.
The hotel is the final piece of SORA West, a transit-oriented mixed-use project. It encompasses 520,000 square feet and incorporates a new 11-story office tower and the adaptive reuse of a 148-year-old historic firehouse, completely redefining the gateway to this Philadelphia suburb.
Hotel construction began during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, which prompted Keystone and Concord to redesign plans to reduce the number of rooms and increase amenities. The Hotel West & Main features a rooftop bar and lounge overlooking SORA West’s plaza for events and live music, as well as meeting spaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology, catering to both business travelers and leisure guests.
The hotel is near an office tower that houses up to 1,500 AmerisourceBergen employees. The Fortune 10 healthcare giant relocated its global headquarters to Conshohocken, cutting the ribbon last September on its 429,000 square foot facility designed by Gensler. The office tower includes tech-enabled conference and business centers and connects to a 12-story public and private parking garage.
The site’s historic firehouse was brought back to life as the gateway to SORA West and physically connects with Hotel West & Main via a first-floor dining experience with an outdoor terrace. The restaurant is known as 1874 Social, honoring the year the Washington Fire Company formed on the site. 1874 Social is an all-day social cafe offering an assortment of menus including specialty coffee, breakfast, happy hour and dinner.
The firehouse, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, also inspired the second-floor gastropub experience, the Hook & Ladder Skybar.
Hotel West & Main has made one additional 4000 square foot dining/retail space available for lease inside the hotel.
