Coldwell Highlights Promising Market Opportunities Following ICSC Las Vegas

For property owners, grocery anchored centers should remain strong.

LAS VEGAS–Every market condition presents a new opportunity. So says Dan Spiegel, managing director of Coldwell Banker Commercial.

Spiegel chatted with GlobeSt.com following ICSC Las Vegas on his takeaways from the event and says that for retailers, value oriented businesses, medical retail users and experiential retail should remain active.

“For property owners,” he says, “grocery anchored centers should remain strong and 1031 exchange acquisition properties somewhat scarce via-a-vis supply.”

During the past 15 years, grocery-anchored retail centers stand out in terms of garnering premium rents, achieving the highest occupancy levels, and generating consistent foot traffic as they provide the local community with daily needs, products, and services, James DeCremer, principal, Avison Young, recently told GlobeSt.com. “In the retail world, this asset type continues to be the gold standard for capital investment and tenants,” DeCremer said.

Conway also said the most active categories continue to be medical, quick-serve restaurants, and health and beauty. He said there has been consistently strong demand across all geographic regions.
