Landing Finally Launches Its Corporate Flexible Living Product
After more than a year, the flexible apartment firm has settled on its terms and policies.
Short-term apartment lease platforms have raised hundreds of millions in investment. The concept is that someone can book a furnished apartment in whatever cities the company supports. It’s like the old concept of short-term apartments but booked digitally.
Landing has been doing this since 2019 and recently announced a program for corporate travel. Actually, it was more the admission of a program, as the company had been experimenting with the concept since at least May 2022. A business could book space for an employee between “30 days and 12 months or more.”
However, now the experimentation is over and the kinks presumably worked out. The program is called Flex. Landing says, “Find the perfect place for your team’s work assignments and relocation, and unlock savings with minimum 30, 90 and 180 day commitments – no end date needed.” Moving personnel around, getting living quarter for people opening a new remote office, setting up consultants on extended client engagement — a number of applications for such a service make themselves apparent.
Something the company touts is that the stays, while requiring minimums, can be open-ended, which makes sense as a business may not be able to predict timing.
“Designed to bring a more convenient, cost-effective solution to the corporate housing marketplace, Flex unlocks access to Landing’s selection of 20K+ apartments in 375+ cities nationwide for bookings from 30 days to indefinitely, without the need to know when the stay will end in advance,” the company said. “All apartments are fully-furnished, thoughtfully-designed, and equipped with complete kitchens and appliances, so corporate members will feel at home anywhere. And when it’s time to pick up and go, members can provide Landing with just 14 days notice.”
Companies use the online reservation platform to secure a room. Then all the details are communicated to the specific user so the company doesn’t have to closely monitor the details.
The company claims that it serves members (individuals with subscriptions) at Amazon, Apple, Major League Baseball, Netflix, Disney, and Starbucks.
Landing says that properties have “premium furnishings for a comfortable and consistent living experience.” Apartments are “professionally curated, cleaned, and managed.”
Spaces come with high-speed internet, a workspace, 24-hour, 7-day-a-week support, pre-connected utilities, and coffee and snacks on arrival. Customers can pay for accommodations through credit card, check, ACH transfer, or wire transfer. People do need to submit to a criminal background check, though corporate clients do not require credit checks or income verification.
