EV giant leases new 927K SF warehouse at Matrix Logistics Center.
Tesla has inked a lease for a new 927K SF warehouse at the Matrix Logistics Center in Newburgh NY, a facility that the EV vehicle maker intends to use as it regional automotive parts distribution center.
The industrial campus, built last year as a speculative project by Matrix Development Group, is located directly across from the Newburgh Mall in the NYC suburb about 70 miles north of the city in proximity to the New York State Thruway, I-84 and Route 300.
Matrix, based in Monroe Township, NJ, was given the green light last year to build two spec buildings on the site, the mega-warehouse Tesla will occupy and a 215K SF building.

The company has developed 50M SF feet of CRE, including commercial, industrial, residential, golf and hospitality assets. According to a report in the Houston Chronicle, Tesla Motors has been issued a certificate of occupancy for the building, known as Building 9 at the industrial park. Tesla reportedly is considering using the facility for fabrication and storage.
Building 9 was constructed in 2021, with financing provided by Square Mile Capital Management. The building, which spans 57 acres, is owned and operated by Stream Realty; it features mechanical loading doors with 40-foot clear heights and 300 trailer parking spaces.
Tesla moved its headquarters to Austin in 2021, which is also the location of its 4.3M SF Giga Texas assembly plant. Tesla also is planning to build a $375M lithium refining plant near Corpus Christi.
Earlier this year, Tesla signed a deal to lease a 245K SF building in Marysville, WA to be used as a parts manufacturing and assembly plant.
