Cortex Rolls Out BMS Automation Features for Its Platform
The system can let users review, schedule, and implement changes to their building management system.
Cortex Sustainability Intelligence, which has a CRE decarbonization platform, announced a new feature, Cortex Push, that provides automation that is supposed to allow building engineers to increase operational efficiency and reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.
“This streamlined process enables instantaneous implementation of adjustments with a single click, freeing users from the time intensive BMS configuration procedures,” the company said.
The platform already “analyzes trillions of data points on behalf of its clients” that can drive “practical insights, empowering buildings to achieve their sustainability goals while aligned with upcoming regulatory milestones,” it added.
Cortex emphasizes the use of artificial intelligence in its software. The Push product “amplifies energy and cost savings and empowers building engineers to implement operational best practices day in and day out.” Engineers can “seamlessly review, schedule, and publish commands to your BMS and implement energy savings recommendations.”
The company trains its AI systems on data from its database of office buildings to help building engineers improve decisions with a focus on decarbonization goals. The software can help spot patterns, perform predictive analysis, and then act on energy-savings suggestions.
Cortex Push is compatible with various BMS platforms, according to Stacy Lautar, senior VP and director of property management at The Meridian Group. “And it allows our engineers to make real-time decisions that contribute to our sustainability goals, reduced energy use and increased property values, all of which are of top priority for our Fund Investors and JV Partners.”
