The Port of Brunswick near Savannah, Ga., has been the beneficiary of record numbers of car and truck imports as a result of the Port of Baltimore's bridge collapse in March.
The AP reported that Brunswick moved more than 80,000 vehicles and heavy machinery units across its docks in April, a whopping 44% increase compared with April 2023.
Brunswick is the second busiest US port for such cargo – a claim Port of Baltimore held prior to the accident. Baltimore's port has essentially been closed since March 26.
